A great recipe for filling the gap when following your Ultimate Herbal Slim or Ultimate Herbal BodiTune program. By providing both fish and lentils you receive a good serving of protein while keeping the carbs to a minimum. It’s also gluten-free which helps digestion. I like to double up on the recipe and make extra for the freezer. They are great to reheat when the time is short for cooking dinner. Ingredients: 1 cup of Lentils 1 200 g can of wild-caught salmon 1 medium sized sweet potato (purple or gold) 1 white onion 6 cloves of garlic 2 Tsp of Indian curry powder 1 Tsp Turmeric Small bunch of fresh Coriander (Cilantro) 5 eggs Method: Day Before – Cover Lentils with 2 cups of water and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes then turn off the heat and allow to soak overnight. This will make your Lentils soft and a lot less gassy when eaten. The next day, bring the lentils to the boil again for five minutes and allow them to cool. Peel and grate the sweet potato and add to a large bowl. Finely chop onion, Garlic, and Coriander and add to bowl. Sprinkle with turmeric and curry powder and stir together with a fork. This will coat the sweet potato, onions, and garlic with powdered spices. Break up the Salmon with a fork and stir in the bowl. Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl and add to the main bowl mixing in well. You now have your fish cake mix! A little trick I found to make great fish cakes is to use the Salmon can as a mold, just like a biscuit mold. This only works if you have a short fish can. Just press some of the fish cake mix into the can and upturn into the frying pan over your already hot oil. Cook for 10 minutes on each side to cook through and serve with vegetables of your choice. In this case, I have used steamed Broccoli and Leek along with a little Tomato, Cottage Cheese, and Avocado. I hope you enjoy this very satisfying meal! Cauliflower Curry
A wonderfully warm and filling curry which is perfect for your Herbal DETOX or Herbal SLIM program. You can spice it up as much as you wish! Serves 2 – 4 people Ingredients: 1 x head of cauliflower chopped into small florets Curry Paste: 1 x diced onion 8 x cloves garlic finely chopped 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp coriander seeds 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp curry powder Mince together in mortar and pestle (or food processor) until a paste forms Method: Heat oil in a covered roasting dish. Rub curry paste into the florets of cauliflower by hand (a little messy) and place into pan with an extra drizzle of oil. Bake in the oven at 200o C until cauliflower starts to brown, about 30 minutes. Grill on high for a further 10 minutes to slightly char the top. I like it served with roasted pumpkin. Beetroot & Grapefruit Smoothie
A wonderful superfood combination! Ingredients: 1 large bunch of Cilantro 2 x sachets of BodiTune DETOX n SLIM Protein Powder Half a large Avocado 1 x Grapefruit Half of a large Beetroot 2 big pieces of Ginger 3 dstsp of Dates 6 to 8 cubes of ice 400ml of water Method:Soak the dates in half a cup of water. Chop the Cilantro into chunky bits and with the Avocado add to the Ladyship Blender. Chop the ends off the Grapefruit, chop into 4 pieces and add to blender. Ingredients: 3 bunches of organic spinach 2 x stalks of celery Half an avocado 2 x dstsp of organic cacao beans 2 x dstsp of gogi berries 1 x sachet of DETOX n SLIM Protein powder 200ml to 400ml of water Method: Soak the Gogi berries in half a cup of water. Mushroom Stroganoff
A delicious creamy special! If you are missing something meaty, this is a great alternative! Not only are mushrooms and garlic great for your immune system, but this recipe has good fats and is low in sugars. Serves 2 people Ingredients: 300g mixed organic mushrooms 6-8 garlic cloves 1 white onion 2 Tbsp Coconut oil 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 teaspoon cayenne 1Tsp Mixed herbs 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 400ml Can of Coconut cream Small bunch parsley 2 stalks of spring onion Method: Heat oil in a pan, chop onions and sauté for 2 minutes stirring in garlic and cayenne for 1 minute until a little soft. Chop mushrooms throw into pan and cook on high for 5 minutes stirring regularly. Drizzle over with olive oil while cooking. Pour in the mixed herbs and Worcestershire sauce, then lower the heat and stir in the cream. Simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens. Tomato, Leek & Onion Soup
I love this soup. It’s got to be my favorite soup for detoxing. Great for any time of year! Super healthy, high in antioxidants, and excellent for your herbal detox program or herbal slim program. Serves 4 people Ingredients: 4 small or 2 x large onions 1 x large leek 6 cloves of garlic 1 can of chopped tomatoes 4 fresh tomatoes 100gm of tomato paste 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp Cayenne (or paprika) 1 tsp caraway seeds 2 tsp miso paste Method: Finely chop and lightly heat onions, leek and garlic in olive oil over low heat. Sweat with the turmeric, cayenne and caraway seeds for a couple of minutes. Add canned tomatoes, chopped fresh tomatoes and tomato paste. Add water to make enough soup and stir over heat until the vegetables are cooked. Just before serving – add 2 teaspoons of miso. Adding at the end of cooking preserves the nutrients in miso. Thai Style Broccoli & Mushroom Soup
A spicy little number and a classic Thai-style soup, similar to Tom Yum. Serves 2 people Ingredients: 1 large carrot 1 small head of broccoli, (or a handful of long green beans) A dozen cherry tomatoes A generous handful of white or brown mushrooms 1 x green capsicum 1 x red capsicum 3 cloves garlic 2 x 440g can coconut milk 1 tsp honey Juice of 1 x limeSpices Below (or use authentic Thai green curry paste) 3 x kaffir lime leaves A stalk of lemongrass 1-2 small red chilies or ½ tsp chili flakes 1/3 cup fresh coriander leaves 2 tbsp fish sauce Method: Chop carrot, broccoli, mushrooms, and capsicum into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop or mince lemongrass, kaffir, chili, garlic, and coriander. Heat wok or pan and add oil. Add garlic, chili and stir for 2 minutes. Add carrot, broccoli, and ½ cup of water. Cover and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add mushrooms, tomatoes, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes. Lastly, add lemongrass, kaffir, coconut milk, and the remainder of the ingredients stirring continuously. Allow to simmer and sit for 5 minutes before serving. Lovely Limes: Limes contain unique flavonoid compounds that have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties.
