This is a fantastic recipe for energy, protein, antioxidants, fat burning, muscle building, and general ultimate health. It’s the protein, fat, and other plant nutrients (vitamins and minerals) that make up a healthy body. Simple carbs or sugar really have no place in a healthy diet. You can get all you need from fruit and vegetables. Not only is this smoothie super healthy but it tastes like a dream come true – It’s the addition of the mint to the mix that really sets this drink alive and it will set you alive as well. You really need a high-speed blender like the Ladyship Blender to do this properly, otherwise, you will end up with some of the orange skin and pith as small lumps in your drink. You can peel your orange if you don’t think your blender will do the trick. Ingredients: 1 whole Orange with skin on 1 peeled Banana (substitute with an apple if on a 14-day program or less) 1 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt 1 x DETOX ‘n SLIM sachet 2 Stevia tablets or 2 tsp honey (honey is healthy) 3 dstp of raw organic Cacao powder 1/2 cup of raw milk 8-10 cubes of ice 1 tsp Vanilla essence (for a delicious flavor) 6-8 large mint leaves (for the dreamy taste) 1/2 cup water Blend until super smooth and creamy. Indian Style Cauliflower Curry
This great simple coconut curry can be made with all kinds of vegetables depending on their availability. This makes it very versatile. Super healthy during your herbal detox, and incredibly delicious you need to make plenty of this dish for the whole family. Serves 4 people Ingredients: 1 1⁄2 tablespoons extra virgin oil 1⁄2 tsp cumin seeds (optional) 1⁄2 large white onion diced up 2 x garlic cloves crushed 2 tsp hot curry powder 1 x 440gm can of diced tomatoes 3 tbsp of tomato paste 400ml of water 2 x average sized zucchinis or a quarter of a cabbage 1/2 Buttercup Pumpkin 1 heaped cup of cauliflower florets 1 large carrot or red capsicum 1⁄2 cup coconut milk Chopped cilantro Pinch of salt Add in Brown rice if doing the 1 or month DETOX & SLIM Programs if you wish Method: Puree the tomatoes with 400ml of water and tomato paste. Heat oil in pan or wok. Add cumin seeds. When they sizzle, add chopped onion and cook until lightly browned. Add minced garlic and curry powder then stir for 30 seconds. Pour in pureed tomatoes, coconut milk and salt then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes or till the sauce thickens a little. Add chopped zucchinis (or cabbage), cauliflower, and carrot (red capsicum) then simmer until zucchini is soft. Serve with cilantro sprinkled on top. Sweet & Sour Chinese Style
This is a nice variation on Chinese sweet and sour. You can use these ingredients or try other vegetables of your choice. If you’re doing the one or two-month Herbal DETOX program then you could include some cubed fish, and if you’re doing the Herbal SLIM program then you could even try cubed chicken. Just quickly stir-fry the meat first, place aside and add back in just before serving. Serves 4 people Ingredients: Vegetables: 1 x large onion 6 x cloves of garlic 2 x carrots 2 x capsicums 1 x small head of broccoli 6 x flat mushrooms 1 x handful of spinach greens (or green runner beans) 1 x ring of pineapple chopped into pieces Sauce: 1⁄2 cup tomato paste 2 tbsp fresh ginger 1 small lemon 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp turmeric 2 dstp honey 1 tsp cayenne 1 dstp soy sauce Method: First of all mix the sauce, by melting the honey in hot water. Place dry ingredients in a bowl and mix, while adding soy sauce, lemon juice, and melted honey. Combine with tomato paste and fresh ginger. Then chop all vegetables into bite-size pieces as you desire. Slice and stir fry the mushrooms first and place to one side. Sauté in olive oil the onions, garlic for 2 minutes, then add the carrots, broccoli until half cooked and still crunchy. Add the spinach greens, mushrooms, pineapple and sauce and allow to come to a gentle simmer to 2 minutes. Serve fresh with a sprinkling of fresh cilantro. Salmon, Sweet Potato and Feta
A very simple and super quick recipe for your Ultimate Herbal SLIM. The most amazing thing about Salmon is the flavor, not only the incredibly good fat and wonderful protein. We need good fat to keep our metabolism steady and supply our body with essential fatty acids (EFA’s), which make up every cell in the body. Serves 2 people Ingredients: Small salmon fillet 1/2 Sweet potato (Kumara) 1 x tomato 1/2 onion 1/2 capsicum Salad greens (or chopped Avocado and cucumber) Diced Feta Method: Fry the salmon in a tiny bit of olive oil until crisp, and also fry the Sweet potato wedges, capsicum, and wedged onion. Lay the sweet potato, onion capsicum, and tomato on the salad greens and sprinkle with Feta, Serve with aioli. You can eat this as often as you like during your Slimming Program, without any guilt. Curry Corn Salad
Totally delicious and very filling, this is a great recipe for your detox while sweet corn is in season. Perfect for your Ultimate Herbal DETOX Serves 4 people Ingredients: 1/2 white onions 3 x cobs of corn Salad greens 2 x medium tomatoes 1 x large avocado 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1⁄4 cup cold pressed extra virgin olive oil 2-3 teaspoons of curry powder 1⁄2 tsp raw salt. Method: Grill corn on high setting for 5-6 minutes rotating until slightly charred. Slice kernels from the cob and combine with diced onions. Blend olive oil, vinegar, curry powder, and salt and stir into corn kernels. Nicely lay out salad greens, tomatoes and avocado and pour corn into center. As a nice extra, I also added some grilled capsicum to this recipe, which you can see in the photo. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the predominant carotenoids in yellow corn but their levels are generally low in white corn. Commonly known as macular pigments, lutein and zeaxanthin are found in the human retina, (the light-sensitive inner surface of the eye), where they protect against oxidative damage caused by blue light.
Fresh Beetroot Salad
This is a very filling and super nourishing combination. I had it two nights in a row on my detox. There are two parts to this dinner recipe and yet it only takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It’s really great how this type of food can detox and heal your body. Serves 2 people Beetroot salad Ingredients: 1 Large can of beetroot 2 stalks of celery 2 sprigs of spring onion 1/2 a white onion, or a handful of cocktail pickled onions 2 Tomatoes A handful of Kalamata olives A handful of Corriander (cilantro) and or Basil leaves Method: Chop all ingredients into bite-sized pieces and stir together, Serve with homemade vinaigrette and yogurt dressing. Curry Thai Pumpkin Soup
This is a great little warmer for your two-week or one-month Detox program. It has the benefit of coconut milk which is good fat, especially if you can get good quality organic coconut cream. The combination of coconut and chili (in the red curry paste) is truly rewarding. Serves 4 people Ingredients: ½ Crown pumpkin 2 stalks of celery 1 x 440gm can of coconut cream 200ml water 2 dstsp butter 2 dstsp authentic Thai red curry paste 1 dstsp crushed garlic or 6 cloves 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp ginger 1 tsp thyme Method: Chop pumpkin into 1-inch cubes and boil until soft. Drain mash and set aside. Melt butter stirring in dried herbs and spices and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in garlic, curry paste, and coconut milk. (If you like to warmer you can increase the Thai curry paste) Finally, add the pumpkin and allow it to simmer, stirring gently. Blend the soup in a blender until smooth and creamy. Serve with fresh cilantro and a swirl of cream. The body converts it into vitamin A in the body. Foods high in beta-carotene may reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancer and can delay aging and body deterioration. Blood pressure: Eating pumpkin is good for the heart! The fiber, potassium, and vitamin C content in pumpkin all support heart health. Consuming adequate potassium is almost as important as decreasing sodium intake for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). Other foods that are high in potassium include bananas, oranges, pineapple, spinach, and tomatoes.
Spicy Dahl Soup
This recipe is perfect for your one or two-month detox. In wintertime a detox is a great way to stave off those coughs and colds. It helps keep your metabolism up and your immune system on high alert. Serves 4 people Ingredients: 2 cups mung dahl (split mung beans, or lentils) 1 x large leek sliced into 1cm rings 2 x large carrots sliced thin 2-3 bunches fresh spinach 3 tbsp olive oil or butter 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp whole fennel seeds 1 tsp Cayenne pepper 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp allspice 1/2 tsp powdered turmeric 6 cups water 1 tsp salt 1 tsp dark soy sauce. Method: Wash and rinse the dahl. Soak in hot water for 1/2 an hour then drain and cover with 6 cups of water. Bring to the boil and add the chopped carrot and leek. Reduce heat to simmer and cook covered for about an hour until the dahl is soft. Heat the oil/butter on low in a small frying pan mixing in and sautéing the dry spices. Spoon a cup of liquid from the dahl and stir into the spice mixture. Transfer all to the dahl soup and add the chopped spinach. Cook for 5-10 minutes more until the spinach is cooked. Grape & Tamarillo Smoothie
We had so many grapes on our vine that we couldn’t eat them all. Then came the grape smoothie idea!! Ingredients: 2 x Bananas (substitute with an apple on a 14-day Deep Cleanse program or less) 2 dstsp of yogurt 2 Dessertspoons of plain protein powder (or a sachet of detox ‘n slim) About 20-30 grapes (Add a Tamarillo if you like) 1-2 stevia tablets (or honey to taste) 200ml Milk (Rice or almond milk) 200ml Grape juice (amazing stuff) Serves 4. Blend in a Ladyship Blender until smooth and creamy. This is delicious and massively healthy. Did you know? The tamarillo is low in simple carbohydrates, high in fibre, copper, and manganese, and is a good source of vitamin a, B6, C, vitamin E, and thiamine. Date & Apple Delight
Here’s a quick delicious one for during your detox. It can be a great breakfast or yummy dessert. I had this a couple of times on my last 14 day cleanse. Ingredients: (per serving) 1 x large green apple (or red if you prefer) 6-8 dates A dessertspoon each of raisins, cranberries or currants Cream Cinnamon Method: Simply take one apple, core out the centre, and stuff with dates, raisins, cranberries, or any other type of dried fruit you like. You can also add some honey or allspice to flavours. Add a dessertspoon of water to the bottom of a saucepan and steam the apple until soft. Serve with cinnamon and cream. Delicious! More than 77,000 women in the United States in a Nurses Health Study, found those who consumed at least one serving per day of apples had a reduced risk of lung cancer.
