Lemon and Chia Protein balls (with Turmeric)

Lemon Chia Bliss Balls
Easy Print

When doing a detox it’s nice to have a little treat at the end of the day. Something that makes you feel like you’re still allowed something like a dessert snack or something sweet. Although this is a super healthy recipe containing protein, lemon flavonoids, turmeric antioxidants, and excellent fat with coconut oil, it does still give the reward of a sweet treat.

You will enjoy these zesty treats.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded coconut + extra
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • Zest and juice of 1 large lemon
  • 1 Tablespoon of Chia Seeds
  • 30g scoop of protein powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric

Method
Chop the lemon into chunks and add to blender, followed by the coconut oil, turmeric and pre-soaked chia seeds (You can soak chia seeds in a little water for 30 minutes) then add the honey, protein powder, and coconut. Pulse the blender until the ingredients combine into a thick paste. Don’t blend until completely smooth or they won’t have any texture.

Roll spoonfuls into balls into fine coconut. Place in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours to set.
