Salvia hispanica, commonly known as Chia Seeds, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to central and southern Mexico and Guatemala. (2) 

Chia has become a very popular superfood in sold widely health stores and supermarkets as Chia Seeds. 

 

Scientific Evidence for Chia Seeds

The ancient grain known as Chia Seeds are becoming enormously popular in modern food regimen in many countries; the higher proportion of α-linolenic acid makes Chia the superb source of omega-3 fatty (about 65 % of the oil content).
